FIM Sets 2027 Trial World Championship Calendar — Eight Rounds, Three Continents, a Return to the US
The provisional 2027 Hertz FIM Trial World Championship calendar is out — eight rounds from April to September, including the series’ first US round since 2013, and eight more for Honda’s RTL Electric to build on its debut season.
The FIM has released its provisional calendar for the 2027 Hertz FIM Trial World Championship: eight rounds across eight countries and three continents, running from mid-April to late September.
The season opens at Benahavis, Spain on 16-18 April, then moves a week later to Viana do Castelo in Portugal (23-25 April) — both venues that also opened 2025. Round three is the standout: the TrialGP of USA returns to Sequatchie, Tennessee on 21-23 May, the series’ first visit there since 2013, when Adam Raga won both days.
From the US the series heads to Japan’s Mobility Resort Motegi (4-6 June), then back to Europe: Andorra (18-20 June), and a brand-new venue at Fiumalbo in Italy (25-27 June) before the summer break.
The championship resumes at Geddington in Great Britain (27-29 August) before the season is decided at La Bresse, France (17-19 September) — the series’ first visit there since 2012. The 2027 Trial des Nations follows at Cahors, also in France, on 25-26 September.
Trial2 riders join TrialGP at every round. TrialGP Women sit out only Andorra, making 2027 the longest season the women’s class has had. Junior Trial3 riders miss the US, Japan and France rounds.
Honda’s RTL Electric closed its debut 2026 season fifth overall with Miquel Gelabert, its only rider. But clearly there are expectations of better performances to follow. As Gelabert put it: “I know the result will come sooner or later because the project keeps moving forward and we are becoming increasingly competitive… now it’s time to keep working and fighting.”
