Arctic Leopard Releases First Look at the XD PRO ‘in the Wild’ as Chinese Pre-Orders Open
Arctic Leopard has released the first riding footage we’ve seen of its 35 kW XD PRO, posted alongside the opening of pre-orders in China at CNY 31,999, or about A$6,860.
ZHEJIANG, CHINA — Arctic Leopard has released the first footage of its new XD PRO being ridden ‘in the wild’, a 54-second video posted on its official Bilibili channel on 10 October to mark the opening of pre-orders in China.
Until now the 35 kW full-size electric off-roader, unveiled at CIMAMotor in Chongqing last month, had only been seen on show stands and in studio shots.
In China the standard bike, with RFLOXA suspension, is priced at CNY 31,999 (about A$6,860). A version with KYB suspension is CNY 32,999 (about A$7,070). Arctic Leopard says it will fill orders in the order they are paid, and has not given a delivery date. Its international website lists the XD PRO at $6,599 — presumably US dollars.
The specs match what Arctic Leopard released before the Chongqing show:
- 35 kW peak power
- 74V 76Ah semi-solid-state battery (about 5.6 kWh)
- 120 km/h top speed
- 200 km of claimed range, which its product page bases on 40 km/h cruising
Arctic Leopard quotes a curb weight of 89 kg, or 93 kg in what it calls “gross configuration”.
How it compares
Chinese retail prices don’t include shipping, import costs or GST of course, so they are not a precise indication of what the bike will cost here. Even so, the XD PRO’s power and price put it in a highly competitive position:
- Arctic Leopard XD PRO: 35 kW, 89–93 kg, CNY 31,999 in China (about A$6,860)
- Rerode RX: 35 kW, US$6,200 pre-order price in the US (about A$8,890)
- Sur-Ron Ultra Bee HP: 24.5 kW, $10,490 in Australia, plus on-road costs
- Stark Varg MX 1.2 (80 hp): 60 kW, A$19,990 in Australia
When it gets here
Arctic Leopard Australia, the brand’s new national distributor, has said the XD PRO is likely to arrive ahead of the XC. It isn’t among the three models in the first shipment due in November–December, but with a second shipment planned for early next year, hopefully we’ll see it on Australian shores early in 2027.
In Europe, Arctic Leopard will launch the XD PRO at EICMA in Milan on 3–8 November, where it will also give the XC Pro its world premiere.
