Arctic Leopard to have official distributor Down Under
Fresh off teasing its new XD PRO and XC models in Chongqing, the Chinese electric off-road brand tells TerraVolt eMoto it’s about to land an official exclusive Australian distributor.
Arctic Leopard has told TerraVolt eMoto it’s about to formalise an official distribution arrangement in Australia. An Arctic Leopard Australia representative confirmed: “We’re coming on board as Arctic Leopard’s official exclusive Australian distributor, with the formal signing taking place in October.” The new outfit is based in Perth, WA.
The timing lines up with a bigger moment for the brand in China. At CIMAMotor in Chongqing this month, Arctic Leopard used its own invitation to bill the show as the launch of “two brand-new electric off-road models” — XD PRO, shown as a physical unit, and XC, teased only as a silhouette. Nearly two weeks on, that pattern has held: XD PRO specifications have been released, while XC is still being revealed one detail at a time.
XD PRO is the further along of the two. On the stand in Chongqing it was described as an almost-final production version — 35 kW motor, 93 kg, 120 km/h top speed — with full production said to be one to two months away. The brand’s own explanation for the wait is extra suspension and powertrain testing rather than any setback.
XC is the one still under wraps. Arctic Leopard had a prototype on display at CIMAMotor — running a 3D-printed frame for fitment testing, ahead of a move to a conventionally forged frame for production — and put its launch at around six months away. Beyond that, no power, battery or weight figures have surfaced for it anywhere, including on Arctic Leopard’s own US site.
No further details have been provided from the Australian end yet, and it’s still not clear which models — or when — Arctic Leopard Australia plans to bring in first. We will update once there’s more details.
